Install Holy Book Quiz on your phone

Holy Book Quiz installs straight from your web browser, with no app store and no account. It takes about a minute, the app gets its own icon on your home screen, and it works offline after your first game.

There's one app for each book. Install one, or both.

2 Install it

Android phones and tablets

  1. Open the app's page (above) in Chrome. Samsung Internet and Edge work too.
  2. Tap the Install button on that page.
  3. A box appears saying Install app. Tap Install.
  4. The app's icon appears on your home screen and in your app list. Tap it to play.

No Install button? Tap the menu at the top right of Chrome, then Install app or Add to Home screen.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open the app's page (above) in Safari. This step only works in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button . On iPhone it's in the bar at the bottom of the screen; on iPad it's at the top right.
  3. Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen .
  4. Tap Add at the top right. The app's icon appears on your home screen.

Computers

  1. Open the app's page in Chrome or Edge.
  2. Click Install on the page, or the install icon at the right end of the address bar.
  3. Click Install again to confirm. The app opens in its own window and gets a shortcut.

3 Play

Play once while online

Open the app with an internet connection the first time. It saves the game on your device, and after that it plays offline too.

Updates are automatic

Whenever you open the app online, it checks for a newer version by itself. There's nothing to update by hand.

Your progress stays on your device

Stars, scores and talents are saved on your phone. If you install both apps, they share the same progress.

Fixes for common problems

I don't see an Install button or option

You may have opened the link inside another app, such as Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp or Gmail, which opens pages in its own built-in browser. Open the page in Chrome (Android) or Safari (iPhone) instead: tap the menu in that app and choose “Open in browser”, or type holybookquiz.com into Chrome or Safari yourself.

There's no “Add to Home Screen” on my iPhone

Apple only allows this in Safari. If you're in Chrome or another browser on iPhone, open holybookquiz.com in Safari, then tap Share and scroll down the list. If it still isn't there, tap Edit Actions at the bottom of the list and add it.

The Install button doesn't appear any more

That usually means the app is already installed on this device. Look for its icon on your home screen or in your app list.

The app won't open without internet

Open it once with a connection and play a round: that's when it saves the game on your device. After that it works offline.

How do I remove the app?

Press and hold its icon, then choose Uninstall or Remove App (on iPhone, Delete App). This also deletes your progress on that device.

Can I just play without installing?

Yes. Play in your browser on any phone, tablet or computer. Installing simply gives you an icon, full screen and offline play.
